OPPOSITION IN CANTERBURY, Per Press Association! CHRISTCHURCH, May 5 ; The Canterbury Iron Moulders’ Union have passed a resolution that, in view, of the unsatisfactory answer received' from the Minister of Defence re the compulsory clauses of the Defence Act, a plebiscite be taken on a proposal to> epase production on and after Labour Day, unless the compulsory clauses are repealed, and that other unions and societies be asked to take similar action.
