EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. “IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO MEND.” To-night at the Empire Theatre there will be a complete new programme, headed by Puller's great exclusive picture “It is Never too Late to Mend.” This thrilling production is adapted from the book by Charles Reado, and there are very low English-speaking people who are not conversant with this masterpiece of fiction. The eyes of the world wore opened from their heavy slumbers by this bold and daring story. It revealed far-off Australia to an English public; it revolutionised the prison svstom of England; it told a story of true human love and enchained the entire interest of the British public; in short, it conquered the reading public of the whole world. Such is the masterpiece that the Empire Theatre management has secured for their patrons, and as a further attraction the services of Mr. Alf. Boothrnan are added, tinder the guidance of this master elocutionist the audience will have a clear understanding throughout the 4000 ft. of,-film that comprises tho picture. On Saturday next the Empire Pictures will show a Cine Roma pantomime, “Pinocchie,” 4000 ft. in length, at present creating a sensation at the Continuous Theatre, Wellington. ROYAL PICTURES. To-morrow tho Theatre Royal will again be occupied by the Royal Pictures and Orchestra, when a complete change of programme will be submitted, including a merry Vitagraph comedy entitled “Who’s Who and What’s What?” Among the many dramas are “The Baby and the Stork” (A. 8.), “Heart of Silver Leaf” (an A.K. Indian drama), and “Call of the Open Range” (an exciting cowboy film). “Harvesting in Sicily” is an interesting industrial picture, and Patho’s Australian Gazette is full of topical happenings. The comic element includes “The Landlord and tho Tenant,” “A Quiet House,” and “Ingenious Domestic. ”
