HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 9. The High Commissioner has sent tho following cable from London under date. April 6. Quotations, unless otherwise specified, aro the average market prices on spot:— Mutton market firms at last quotations, viz. (nominally), Canterbury 4iid, North Island 3Jd to 4Jd. Lamb market steady. Prices well maintained. Beef market quiet. Butter market quiet. . Prices slightly weaker. Average prices for the week; Choicest New Zealand butter 124, Australian 120 s, Siberian 120 s, Danish 1295, Argentina 120 s, Cheese market steady. Average price for the week, finest New Zealand 745. Hemp market very quiet. Nothing doing. Output from Manila for the' ■week 26,000 bales. Hops. —Market firm, with improved demand for Now Zealand hops. Prospects are favourable for early shipments. Wool.—The market remains firm. ARGENTINE SHIPMENTS. Tho Department has received the following cablegram from Buenos Aires, under date April 6; — The following shipments of produce have been despatched. from Argentina to United Kingdom ports during March, 1912 (compared with March, 1911); Frozen beef. 1912, 179,000 quarters; 1911, 25.5,136 quarters. Chilled beef, 201.000 and 90,084. Frozen mutton, 199.000 carcases and 159,876 carcases. Lamb, 66,000 and 193,053. Butter, 9516 cwt. and 900 owt.
