WELLINGTON SESSIONS. Per .-tsKociati.m WELLINGTON, August 16. At the Supremo Court to day, before Sir. Justice Sim, Arthur Frederick Charles Davies svas found guilty of receiving stolen goods, and was remanded' for sentence till Saturday. Robert Parrott, a seagoing fireman, charged with assaulting and robbing Leonard James Hogan, was found guilty of assault, and remanded for sentence till Saturday. William Lyndhurst, for assaulting and robbing John Lannonr in an hotel, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour. WELLINGTON, August 19. At the Supreme Court to-day Robert Parratt was sentenced to 12 months’ imprispnment for cowardly assult on a mawwith whom he had been drinking.

CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS. CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. Harry Alexander Jack appeared before the Supreme Court to-day charged with tho murder of Ethel May Bradley on February 7. Evidence on lines similar to -that, called in the case against Sadler at tho last sessions of the court was adduced hy the Crown Prosecutor. His Honour directed tho jury to find a verdict of “not guilty,” as the evidence did not exclude the reasonable hypothesis that the woman’s death was duo to poison self-administered. Tho jury, without leaving the box, found Jack not guilty, and immediately afterwards Jack was re-arrested on a charge of perjury.

PALMERSTON SESSIONS. PALMERSTON N., August 18. John Owen, alias Dorce, alias Rowo, alias Lucy, remanded from Auckland, charged with attempted murder, was committed for trial to-day. A. P. Easton, a farmer, deposed that ho employed Owen on April 15, 100 G, at fl per week'. He went away on business, and on his return was informed that tho new man had not done much work. Accused was told he would have to do more work. He then cursed, swore and sliowed fight and demanded his money. Witness got his cheque book, but accused refused a cheque. He obtained a gnu and cartridges and demanded his money, the proceeds of the pig sale, from his employer. Witness said no money- had been received yet, hut at tho point of the gun lie was made to turn out his boxes, and accused then threatened to shoot him and burn down the house. He fired at witness, but the gun misfired. He then tried to strike him with an axe, but Easton warded off the blow. Easton succeeded in escaping, and returned later to tho wharc with the police, when Ihey found tho gun and cartridges. Mrs. Sarah Wyeth and John AVyeth, of Foxton, deposed that they saw a man very liko accused, who said he had shot Eastdn. Accused was arrested by Detective Issel, Auckland, Accused states, in defence, that Easton attempted to assault him.

AUCKLAND SESSIONS.

AUCKLAND, August 19

In the Supreme Court a decree nisi was granted to Frederick Richard Anstico against Flora Matilda Anstioe. Tho parties were married in Wellington in 1905. Petitioner stated that when living in Geraldine he sent his wife to a nursing home at Timaru to be confined. Instead she went to Dunedin and later he met her in Dunedin and asked her why she find cleared out, and whom was she living with. She replied: “Mick Head in Lagan Street.” He denied being cruel to his wife. Mr. Judge AVard said that the petitioner was no doubt the cause of his wife leaving him, but he ' would give her the benefit of the doubt and get rid of him. He granted a decree nisi, but granted no costs.
