Baron Leopold d’Avillier, a millionaire, philanthropist, was knocked down by a motor car and taken to the common accident ward of the Beaujon Hospital. For three days forest fires have been raging in Michigan. Seven persons are known to be dead and scores are missing. The loss is estimated at £2,000,000. An area of 1000 square miles was swept by the flames.
