A FiIIEMAX IMPRISONED. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 6. Per Press Association. Another defaulting fireman was before the court at Lyttelton to-day, and was sentenced to a week’s imprisonment. In this case the man had signed on the Delphic as from January 4, and had gone aboard on January 5 about an hour before The departure of tho vessel fur Wellington, when the captain ordered Ids arrest. SLY GROG-SELLING. WELLINGTON, Jan. 6. As tho result of a raid by the police during Christmas week ten defendants wore summoned to the police court to-day. Two men, Power and Britis, were each fined £SO and costs, in default ouo month’s imprisonment, on a charge of selling liquor without a license. The other defendants were lined amounts varying up to £2 for ‘oeing found on the premises.
