BREWERS’ CRUELTY.
TO ASHBURTON CUSTOMERS. Bor Press Association ASHBURTON, Jan. 6. A number of Ashburton residents complain of harsh treatment by Christchurch brewers, who, in response to orders for small quantities of beer at Christmas, returned the residents’ money with the orders unfilled. One resident said he had beon a customer of a brewery in Christchurch for many years, but his order and money wero returned. Having no other means of obtaining his holiday beer, ho therefore had to go without. * Now Plymouth residents may bo grieved to learn of the death of the Emir of Bokhara, news of which has I has been cabled from London.
