MR. LLOYD-GEORGE’S SCHEME. COMPULSORY CONTRIBUTIONS. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyriaht, (Received Jan. 5, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 4. Tho provisional scheme of Mr. LloydGeorge for sickness and invalidity insurance has been printed. It proposes to operate through the present voluntary societies on the basis oi tho compulsion of all workers whoso earnings are below £IOO a year. They will make contributions to provide for a minimum benefit of 5s a week, to which the State guarantee will he restricted to meet one half. The workman insures for the remainder in equal proportions with his employer and the State. Any insurance beyond tho minimum is voluntary.
