AMERICAN BEEF.
A MILLION CATTLE LESS THAN LAST YEAR.
By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright (Received Sent. 17, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 16. The Times' New York correspondent reports that the number of cattle received at the various stock/ yards is a million below last year. The American Consul at Monte Videc states that Americans who are independent of the Beef Trust are investigating the possibilities of supplies from Uruguay. He calculates it is possible tc land South American beef in Now York at 6J cents per pound.
