LONDON, August 25. Tho British Consul at Fez has protested against Muli Hafid' 8 cruelties to the I'retender's followers. Mr. Brough, the Standard's correspondent at i< ez, reports that Muli Hafid ordered 'the right hand of each man ami woman to be cut off and the stump plunged into boiling pitch. Two important prisoners were ordered to loße their right hands, and right feet and have their teeth drawn. Another correspondent declares that one was ordered to have his lower 4 jaw shattered by a blow from a hammer; another t§ have his eyes gouged out ; a third to have the palm of one of his hands slashed, then salted and sewn up in a leather glove.
