WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD.

At the monthly meeting of the ahu'-e board there were present : Mt-birb. S. Turnhull (chairman). Comictt, Hall, Smith and Western.

Surfaceman Paul reported that he had been cny;a«od during the pant month in clearing water tables on Manutahi, Richmond. Wortley and Te Arei Roads ; the portion of Sesson Terrace by the dairy ractory had been cleared of hirze, and he had arranged with Jeffries and Co. to supply the metal for repairs to Wortley and Richmond Roads at 3s 6d per yard. Surfaceman Palmer reported he had cleared the fern from the sides of the bridges and bad repaired portions ot Upper Te Arei Road ; the metal for repairing Te Arei Road would be put on as .soon as possible. Mr. Herrick wrote complaining of damage causer] by surface water being turned on bis property. It was decided to inquire into tho matter. Surfaceman Paul resigned his position and tlie clerk vat, directed to take the necessary steps to fill the position. A lengthy discussion ensued with regard to the quantity of metal to be used for repairing the lower Te Arei Road ; it was resolved that 150 yards be put down, the member interested considering it should have been 250. Accounts amounting to £80 were passed for payment.
