An increased number 'attended tho last card tournament in aid of tho Central School funds. Following is the price list:— Ladies: Mrs. Henrichs 1 (after winning the play-off with Mrs. Potier, 11 game* each) : Mr*. Potior 2. Men : Mr. W. E. Monk (12 games) 1 ; Mr. R. Henrichs (10 games) 2. Mr. Jack Harvey announced that he would present an umbrella as a lady's first prize for competition at to-morrow evening's tournament. A large number of members and friends of the West End Euchre Club, taking advantage of the fine evening, journeyed to Omata last evening to play the return match with the country club. The visitors proved too good for Omata, winning 99 games to their opponents' 89. ' The small hall was more than comfortably filled, 28 tables being engaged in the tournament. Nevertheless a very pleasant evening was spent, dancing, to musio supplied by Miss Mace, being' kept up till early this morning. During the social evening in the Omata Hall .last evening, Mr. Jack Lister, on behalf of the Omata Euchre Club, presented the successful players with the prizes won during 'the year. Mrs. Alfred George won the first priec, Aiitli Miss Terrill second; and Mr. Cyril George was first among the men. The match between Waireka and Guards will be played at the Holland Club Rooms and not the Association llooms.
