At Lords to-day the Australian cricketers commenced their match against Middlesex. Rain fell up till luncheon hour, but the wicket was easy. The Middlesex team includes Warner, Douglas, Hendron, Tarrant, Robertson, Hendren, Murrell, Trott, Wells, Mingon and Hearne. Macartney, Carter, O'Connor, Hartigan and Layer are omitted from the Australian team. A start was made at 12.20 o'clock. Middlesex has lost two wickets for 118. Douglas, c. Cotter, b. Hopkins 41 Warner, not out 41 Hendren, c. Cotter, b. Raasford... 29 Rain caused frequent delays.. Douglas played an excellent innings, lasting for 45 minutes.
