The annual tnwtttig of the BoarA at Examiners under the Mining and Coal Mines Acts was held to-day, there being present Dr. 801 l (director of geological surveys) in the chair, and Messrs. F. Heed (inspecting engineer of mines), I{. B. Duncan (chief inspector of machinery), H. A. Cordon,' ,1. Bishop, J. Dixon, T. Gilmour, B. Sutherland and H. K. Radcliffe (secretary to the board). Following are the results of the examinations held in March last : — Mine Managers (gold). — I'asses: J. It. Spearing (Waihi), C. A. Katss (Waihi), Oswald Bell (Waihi), W. Smith (Waihi), G. W. E. Turner (Rwiftoii). Partial passes : K. M. Barrance (Karangahake), L. E. Outridge (Thames). Battery Superiutcudpnts.- — Pass: Sydney Fry (Westport). ' Partial passes: C. Harsant (Thames), Noel Carless (WaJhJ), W. K. Broivii (Roefton), vTolm M'Pftddon (Rwftan). • Dredge Mast^tfi. — Paasos: T- R. Weir (Cromwell), T. Stoolo (Alexandra South), G. W. T. Campbell (Alexandra Soutli), A. E. Spooner (Alexandra South), Wallace Carr (Alexandra S<juth). First Class Mino M^anagers (coal). — All the candidates failed. Second Class Mine Managers (coal). — Passes: J. Carruthers (Dunedin). C. R. Heycock (Dunedin), J. Lewis (Dunedin), J. If olden (Thames). Partial passes: T. Todd (Dunedin), H. S. S. Kirkland (Dunedin).
