£1500 AWARDED AGAINST THE CROWN.

Pei Press Assooiatien. DUNEJDIN, April 2. Judgment was given to-day in the case in which the Calton Hill Brick, Tile and Township Company squgh'cto recover damages from the Crown. The company asserted that in consequence of tunnelling in connection with the duplication of the Mosgiel railway the bricl. kiln gradually weakened and finally was destroyed, and the company was thereby hampered and injured in the conduct of its business as brickmakers and ultimately deprived of its business. The claim originally was for £9500, but the item of £1500 for depreciation was abandoned. The Court awarded claimant company £1500.
