GOLF.

Tho opening of the Nganiotu Club takes place next Saturday. The long grass is being cut on the links, and the greens put in order. A mixed foursomes handicap will be played. Competitors are to choose partners and opponents and enter before 4, p.m. on Friday next. The match committee consists of Messrs. C. H. Burgess (club captain), W. Fewley and A. H. Glasgow. The first entry from outside this district has been received for the Easter tournament. It has been decided to instal a telephone at the Ngamotu clubhouse. It is mentioned in to-night's supplement that the annual meeting of the ladies of the Ngamotu Club took place this afternoon. The meeting did not take place owing to the unfavourable weather outlook, but will probably be held on Thursday week.
