Mr Newton King's weekly auction report states: — ; At the- Haymarket on Saturday there was* a fair entry of pigs. Slips made 6s 6d to 14s, small stores 15s to 28s 6d, horses £4 5s to £6 10s. A quantity of timber and joinery sold at prices in favour of buyers. Cattle.— At Douglas; on Monday, weanersf made 9s; yearling steers £1 16s 6d, 15 to 18-months steers £2 2s* empty heifers £2 to £2 4s> in calf heifers £2 6s, store cows j£2 to £2 2s v forward cows £2 15s 6d, fat cows £3 lls to £4, 2i-to 3-year* bullocks £3 10s, [bulls £1 to £2 ss, f.m. ewes £ss. v At Stratford on Tuesday weaners made 10s, good do. 18s oM^ good weaner steers £1 2s Bd, yearling steers i£l 14s, empty heifers £1 10s to £1 15s. springing heifers £3 7s 6d, fat heifers £3 3s to £4 Is, store cows £1 16s to £2 Us, forward cows £3 Is to £3 12s, fat cows £3 14s to £4 12s 6d, bulb £1 6s ta'£l 15s.
