TARANAKI SALES.
NEWTON KING'S REPORT. Mr Newton King reports : — At Tataraiinaka en Friday, 23rd instant, I held a clearing sale on account of Mr J. S. Lister. The cows, which were nearly all in milk, were well competed for and sold well. Cows at full profit made £6 to £8 os, trap horse £13. express £10, store pigs 17s 6d to £1 9s Cd. At Rahotu on Tuesday there was a good yarding and attendance, and nearly every line sold at the hammer at a good price. Mrs Leedom's dairy cow & w ere a good lot and made good prices. Mixed calves to yearlings made 22s 6d, steer yearlings 36s 6d to 38s 6d, 2-year steers £2 los to £3 7s 6d, yearling; heifers 34s to 365, 2-year £2 5s to £2 11s. springers £3 10s to £4, store cows £2 2s to £2 \7s. Mrs Leedom's dairy cows £4 fo £10. At Stony River on Wednesday the yards were full, and there was a good attendance of buyers. Calves made 13s to 24s 6d, yearling steers 35s 6d to 41s, 10-uionths3Bs, yearling heifers 30s to 375, 2-year £2 6s 6d to £2 10s, springers £3 -us 6d to £4 12s 6d, store cows £2 4s to £2 16s 6d, fat £4 10s to £5. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday there was a big yarding, good attendance, and brisk bidding for all classes, nearly every line being sold either at the hammer or privately. Yearling steers made 34s to 445, 2\ to 3-year bullocks £4 9s Cd, 2-year steers £3 5s 6d, yearling heifers 30s to 375, 2-year empty heifers .C 2os to £2 18s, store cows £2 10s to £2 ICs, frHi £3 to £3 Bs, springing heifers £3 ila to £-5 sa.
