TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
Tho entries for the factory" butter classes at the coming show of the Taranaki Agricultural Society closed on Saturday. The number is well in advance of last year's. Entries this year closed nine days earlier &o that the butter to be judged at the show should correspond in age with that arriving on the English market. Entries for private factory butter and roll butter, etc., close on the general entry night. The schedule of* the show does not state clearly that stallions are to be -on the ground on the second day only. The committee has moved in the right direction in so amending its rules, fo* it has in past year's undoubtedly constituted a hardship on owners, seeing that the show comes along just in the busy season, to have their horses away from their districts, two whole days. In" the harness section a class has been inadvertently omitted from the schedule. A class is provided for ponies of 12 hands or under, "to be shown pnd driven in harness. This will be added to the catalogue in the ordinary way. Entiies close with general entries.
