At I'renui on Monday I held a \ciy successful sale on account ot Mr it. T. Joll. There, was a large attendance, and the cows, which included se\eral grade Jerseys, being a really iii>t-class lot. met witli keen competition and sold at excellent prices. Cows at lull profit made L' 7to £10 15s, springers £5 5s to £11, calves on the bucket 2s (id. Jersey calves 37s to 21s, empty heifers £2 5s to £2 17s Gd. yearling steers £2 to C 2 Gs Gd. pedigree- bull £I], storo pigs 21s to 325, sow £2 7s Gd.

At Stratford on Tuesday I held a special sale of pedigree Jerseys in mv horse, bazaar yards, when about 30 head from the following breeders were submitted to tho hammer. — Thos. Linn, Mangatoki ; A. JL llalcombe, Urcnui ; Paul Jlunter, Hawke's Hay; AY. Booth, Carterton; E. Eagle, jun., Carterton ; A. Buchanan. Palmerston North. There was a good attendance and nearly every line was sold without resene. Yearling bulls made 8V to 17 guineas, 2 to 3-year bulls 14 to 10 guineas, 2 to 3-year heifers in ealt 12J 1° lu 'i guineas, cows in milk 15\ to 21 i guineas.

My usual cattle sale held on tlie same day was well attended. All store cattle were in good deniand and sold at Into values. Yearling sicers made ;}ls 6d to 46s Cd, calves £1 5s to 4j 1 7s (id, yearling heifers 27s fid <»■ .'Ms. empty' heifers £2 0s Gd to O f Its (id. 18-monihs to 2-year steers L 2 1(5-. to L.? !)s, 3-year £1 17s, store con « £2 to t;j 0s Gd, forward and fat W 11s to £1 IDs. In the dairy pens them was a very largo ontrv and all heifer^ of good quality met with keen competition and made excellent prices. *iniall and medium quality were hard to quit at considerably less a allies. (Jood forward heifers made C 5 to £? ss. others £:{ 5s to £4 17s Gd, Jerseys £10. A good line of dairy cows, guaranteed, made £5 5s to £9.
