MOTOR AND GIG. ,
DAMAGES FOR ACCIDENT.
Per Press Association.
CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 22. A ease arising out of an accident to a gig caused by the horse shying at, a motor car was heard by Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., to-day. Geoffrey Edward Hoyds claimed £34 damages from Thomas Yuille Wordrop, driver of the motor car. In giving judgment, the Magistrate said he had no doubt the accident had been caused by the negligence of the defendant Wordrop. He was not going to say everything he thought about motor drivers and their ways in Christchurch. Probably the public would be forced into the position of doing more to regulate the traffic than at present, but the existing condition of affairs was bad. Defendant in this case had shown a lack of consideration and disregard for the rights of others. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for £28 and costs.
