[ The Hon. J. A. Millar and Miss Millar were passengers from North by the Rarawa last night. They proceeded to Wellington by this morning's express. . . Mr. JSrnest D. Hbbeh, proprietor of the Manawatu Daily Times, and Mr. Ernest Short, of Feilding, one of the most successful breeders and exhibitors of Romney sheep in the Dominion, were passengers by the steamer last night from Auckland. Tins morning both gentlemen had a good look round Pukekura Park with Mr. Smithy the curator, ffhey were loud in praise of the beauty of the grounds. "What a treasure you have inPukelmra-and-a,.first r -rate curator!" said Mr. Hoben. Subsequently the visitors left for Palinerstqn, bv^ moto* car. Mr and Mrs Joseph Rogers, of Tarurutang!. Bell Block, celebrate their ■» golden wedding to-day, having been married by the Pev. Joseph Long at the Primitive Methodist Chanel, 801 l Bleck, on August 17, I*sß. Mr and Mrs Rogers, who are still enjoying good health, have resided .for- the greater part of this ,time in the Bell Bl<n*k district. They are proceeding overland by the Main Trunk line. Lord Plunket proceeds to Wellington, but Lady Plunket stops- at Palmerston North.— Fress telegrani.
