RAHOTU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) May 27.— The annual meeting of tho Rahotu Hall Committee was held on the 21st. The financial statement showed a balance of £5 in hand, £9 outstanding accounts, and £29 to the credit of the new hall fund, realised by euchro parties. The following con. mittee was elected for the eusa i .ig year: — Messrs. Garcia (chairman), l»rteous (secretary), A. Phillips, A. Food, J. Phillips, T. Parsons, and H. Phillips. A farewell social was tendered to Mr. Wilson and family by his many fripuds in the Pungarehu Hall on the 21st. The Rev. Lay bourne presented c«! behalf of their friends, with a sil^ir teapot, cruet, and watch-guard. On the 26th a euchre party vas hoM at Pungarehu, Miss Condow winning tho lady's prize and Mr. \ Martin ihe gentleman'sA Messrs. King, MeKcown and Moore addressed a largo meeting of ratepa r«rs on the 26th in the Rahotu Hall. Mr. M. Fleming was in the chair. 7. he meeting on tho whole was favourable to the New Plymouth Harbour Bill. At times it was fairly lively. May 28.— Tho Pungarehu Glee Club gave a performance here in aid of "the Rahotu Hall funds, assisted by local talent, and after the concert a daaeo was held, and £5 8s was taken at tho door. Mesdames Harrison and Wright and Mr. Layard supplied the dance music. i Our footballers are not meeting with success this season. So far they have not won a game, though they roll up strong every Saturday to get a licking.
