WHANCAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.

At a meeting of the Whangdmomona County Council, held in "Whangamom'ona on Wednesday, May 27th, there were present the Chairman (Mr. "W. A. McCutchan) and Councillors J. E./Anderson, Jones, A. Meredith, R. McClu^gage, T. Mcllroy, and E.. B. Roberton. The following resolutions were passed : That the Council open a bankings account with the Bank of New Zealand at Stratford ;- that the ■ Commissioner, in reply to his communication ro thirds (pledged for interest upon loan, be informed that the Council's accoiat is at the Bank of New Zealand, EUatford; that tho Chairman and Cnancj]lors Mcllroy and Meredith be a committee to represent the Council at the proposed conference at Stratford; that the Council appoint Mr. Robinson engineer to the county on the terms yeribally arranged, a confirmation of which, in writing, be requested from him ; that Mir. A. Council, for the amount of subsidy sought'; that application be made to the Minister for Roads and, the Premier for a grant of £250 for the Tapuni Road, and that copies of the application be sespt to Mr. Symes, M.P., and the District .- oad Engineer; that Councillor Roberton be empowered to put a man on the Tahora Road for two days to clear slips, etc.
