Mr Arthur Hempton, manager t f the' B^nk of New Zealand at Whau.'-yrei,^ who has obtained eight months' lerye of absence to enuble him to take a trip Home for his health, wa* given an enthusiastic send-off by a number of leading residents of Whangarei. Mr Woodward, one of tho relieving managers, takes over his duties during hi.s absence. Mr and Mrs Hempton go Home by tho Vancouver route.. Mr H. A. Wild," of the local Customs office, is under notice of transfer to Wellington.
