NORTH; ISLAND COMPETITION. The forty-eighth week of the competition promoted f 'qy the North Island Egg-laying, Competition Association, Limited, at Cambridge, ; was concluded on Friday, 3rd inst. The number of eggs laid during the weeic was 841 — an average of 10.25/ eggs per pen. The total number of eggs laid since May 1 last is BC^Te&^anT average of 984.91 eggs per pen. , ' The monthly prifce of £1 Is, for most eggs laid during the month of March, wai won by Pen No. 50, Auckland A. and P. Association, Auckland, White Leghorns, with a total of 118 eggs. \ The highest layings for the week were: — Chamber of Commerce, Cambridge, Black, Orpingtons, 25; W. Runeiman, Newstead, Brown Leghorns, 24,; Mrs Harrison, Avondale, White Leghorns, 28; A. Coje, Hamilton, Wfiite Rocks, 23, The leading peas to date are:— Mrs Harrison, Avondale, White Leghorns, 1264 ; A. aittlP. Association, Auckland, White Leghorns, 1251; T. B.
