The Berlin correspondent of the Standard states that on the occasion of a mutiny, the Sultan of Zanzibar asked for British aid. The Vice-Consul, in the absence of the Consul General, was obliged, as the British warships were one hundred miles away, to seek German aid. The appearance of the German warship helped to overawe the mutineers and facilitated the task of the officers in restoring order.
