FIGHTING FORCE OF THIRTY THOUSAND. BRITISH TROOPS MOBILISING.. 8./ fllectric Telegraph. — Copyright. NATAL, December 4. Diuizulu is sending emissaries throughout Zululand, Natal, Swaziland, Basutoland, and Pondoland, and as a result Zulus are reported to be mobilising in small numbers, and two of the most powerful Natal tribes, 'totalling 9000 fighters, ore' restless and prepared to co-operate with the Zulus shiuld tho latter rebel. LONDON, December 4. Reuter states that tho Zulus' fighting strength is estimated at 30,000. They possess many rifles and considerable ammunition, but the number and quantity and also Diniaulu's intentions «ro unknown. The authorities are preparing for all emergencies*. Fifteen hundred troops aro ready for Zululand, and the militia is being rocruited up to full strength— 3soo. The impending mobilisation of all reserves will give a total defence force of 10,000. Dr. Jameson, Premier of Cape Colony, is to glace a force on tho Griqu iland border,' and the Transvaal and Imperial Governments arc ready to assist in case of necessity. MARTJAL LAW PROCLAIMED. A REASSURING STATEMENT. # (Received December 5, 7.35 a.m.) DURBAN, December 4. The son of the celebrated chief John Dunn states that the rebels at N'Khandhla are few, and there is no restlessness among the natives on the Black Umvolosi River. The chief Dinizulu is at Usuma, Natal. A mounted force with four guns is at Ginginhloye, Jfrom which town Colonel McKenzie advances to-day. Martial law has been proclaimed in Zululand.
