AN AUSPICIOUS OPENING.
. The Taranaki Show opened under most favourable conditions this mornring. The weather was delightfully fine iand 'the grounds after the rain of Tuesday presented a freshened appearance, Vhilst ,the scenic beauty surrounding .the grounds added considerably to the effect. *■ From an early hour this morning the", exhibits began to arrive, and . the stowai'ds had their arrangements .so well in hand that there was no delay .'.whatever in penning. Several desirable .improvements have been effected in the -'show grounds, and a large number of \additional .pens have been provided in .order to accommodate the increased entries. The number of side shows forms a record. -,
