AUCKLAND, July 26. Messrs Buckland & Sons report : — FJorses — At the Haymarket on Friday last we had an average entry and good competition for sound, young, and useful sorts. Spring cart and wagon class realised from £28 5s to £33; a god medium draughts £24 5s to £31, bug.;r horses and good hacks £14 to £23. light harness and ordinary hacks £•"> 15s to £12. Cattle — At Ilemuera on Thursday dairy cattle sold for from £3 10s to £8, dry £2 to £3 os. No grown stoiv.s were yarded. Fat and young calves were short of requirements and brought extreme values, selling from 3s to 66s (G2 sold). There was an average yarding of fat cattle of good quality, which sold steadily throughout at recent quotations. Sioers from £G 10s to fll 7s 6d, cows £5 tb'£3 (323 sold). Sheep — Tho sheep penned were short or requirements and mot with a ready sale throughout. Last week's prices were maintained, best wethers selling to 31s 3d, lighter weights to 255, heavy ewes' 24s 9d, others to 20s, hoggets 15-s to 20s (1420 sold). Pigs — All classes were in keen lemand. [Messrs Wilson ard Nolan report : — We offered a large catalogue on Wednesday last, and with some few exceptions all lines were cleared. Wool — The market is easier; few lines offering. Hides — In sympathy with outsU-j markets, prices declined, and wo may quote an average decline of about £d per lb on last month's rates. Really prime stuff hardly showed the decline at all. Sheepskins — The market is firm at last month's rates ; damaged lots were neglected k Tallow — The market is firm; no change. Bones — As the season for using bone manure approaches, the price hardens, and wo can find a market for all tho bones sent for sale. We quote : — Wool — Pieces 3sd to sd, crutchings > 4}d to sd, dags 2d. Hides-Butchers' : Ox 4Jd to sid, medium 5 J ,d to 53d, stout 6d to 62d ; cow. light 'id to 4*d, medium 4]d to 4i}d, stout 4{jd to 4}c\, kips 4^d to 3d; calf, sound sgd to G£d, cut and damaged 3£d to 4d. Messrs Young, Hobbs & Co. report. —At Stratford, on Wednesday, we ha.l n full yarding, the advertised numbers coining forward in both cattle ani sheep. The bullocks and sheep attract-, o'l outside buyers, with the result thai competition was keen throughout tho ■ sale. A client from south of Hawera took 200 store bullocks. Young cattle in some cases showed the effects of winter. All the ewes and lambs were quitted at satisfactory prices. We quote. ;U-year rough steers £4 10s, 2£ to '\- year steers £4 ss, 20-month steers £2 12s 6d to £2 17s, fat cows £4 2s, fresh and forward do. £2 2s to £2 10s, store do. £1 14s to £1 17s 6d, lj-year empty heifers 30^, weaners 10s to 15s, weedy do. *3, springing £3 5s to £3 15s, ?xtra choice £0 ss.

For I*l r J. Jndson's dairy cows there was keen competition for likely looking early calvers. August and September calvers made €4 5s to £0 15s, backward and empty £2 to £4.
