MELBOURNE, June 11. A special meeting of the Federal Cabinet considered a cable from Mr Deakin regarding mail matters. Sir John Forrest (Acting-Premier) gave no information beyond stating that the Government was now in a position to negotiate finally for an extension of the Vancouver service. He hoped to be able to make a statement dn the subject shortly.
