SPEECH BY MR MASSEY.

(Per Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, March 26. Mf Massey (Leader- of the Opposition) v addressed "a large audience last night. He related the work of the party in the. House,, and «aid many Opposition nieasures had been adopted by the Government. He dealt exhaustively with the Land Bill, condemning the endowment scheme, and advocating an optional clause. Referring to native lands, he adversely criticised the Government's actioti, and favoured, where possible, the placing of the Maori and pakeha on the same footing. The remainder of the; speech was on the lines previously reported. A vote of thanks and favouring the freehold was carried with only three dissentients.
