At a great banquet at Johannesburg, in farewell to Mr Louis Botha, who goes to England to represent the Transvaal at the Imperial Conference, he appealed tq all to work socially together, if not politically. "We now live," he said, "under one flag; we are subjects of one Empire. Let our quarrels cease ; let us forget our differences; let us meet to personally assist each other to adjust bur difficulties. We trust Britain, and want Bri-. tain to trust us." (Prolonged cheers.) i
