RAILWAY APPEAL BOARD.

DUNEDIN, March 23. Another sitting of the Railway Appeal Board was neld to-day ; when an appeal by T. C. Findlay against reduction from' the position of engine-driver to that. Of » machinist was heard. It was admitted that appellant had been warned in July, 1905, against continuance of his drinking habits, and also that he was drinking with a fireman named Brass, who met his death at Invercargill last 9 June as a result of acute alcoholic poisoning, but it was contended that appellant had full control over himself, and that the Department was not justified in refusing to give him charge of an engine. Decision was reserved.
