His Excellency the Governor arrived at Christchurch from Wellington on Wednesday, and left for Hokitika this morning. He will visit several parts of the West Coast r and will return to Christchurch on March 29th. The llev. and Mrs Wm. Green arrived this morning from Auckland. Mr Green takes pastoral charge of the Baptist Church for a short term, from Sunday next.- He is a former student of Pastors' College> London, and a gentleman of considerable experience. * Tho Rev. Father Hayes, who returned to England from New Zealand 'fully restored in health, has been busily engaged since his return in preaching tours in England and Ireland. He has resigned his charge of the parish of Market Rason, Lincolnshire, with the intention of devoting his whole time to the temperance cause.
