RAHOTU NOTES.
(From our own Correspondent.) The Eev. Robert IDaddon (Tahu Patiki) has been making his usual periodical visit in connection with the Maori work of the "Methodist Church. He reports an enthusiastic reception all along the line—at Opunake and I Pihama as well , as here. He reports having held some successful meetings amongst the natives, and the Rahotu portion have presented a pressing request that he take up his permanent residence amongst them, to look after their spiritual needs. The opening meeting of the Rahotu Band of Hope took place on Wednesday evening, before a good company. A varied and interesting programme musical and otherwise was given by Mrs Foston, Misses ' White, IDustacß, Hughson (3), Condon, and Messrs T. and •G. Hughson,, and Foston. Mr Cramer gave several graphophono selections, which were much appreciated. Several joined as, members. Constable Kelly, the new police officer, has arrived to take up his duties in tfiis district.
