The charges for otalside tho Borough to be as tpi-eivi-oiusly fixed,

The Mayor *-lale(d that those continuing to employ the sanitary, contractor would pay the 21s a year as usual. The prices fixed, he fpoi'nted out, were about half those in force in Auckland.

Cr. Collis thought some 'difforenco rfhaujd be matte between the dharge made to the oflice erruployi-ng- an© oi* two, and that to liousohiolders whore there wwe from six to twelve* loorsons. Cr. Wilson jiointcid oixt fhc iditfioulty of tliscrimi'ji'atmg, and ho suggested tlmt the charg-e for hlose for vehicle cleaning in livery stajbles- be at least 30s. It was pointed out that the 10s applied only to private stabli'S. the former price (£3) for livory stables to staivd. Cr. Brodking moVelcl that residents ojutsido tho Boromgh pay an iincrease of 25 per cent, on the prices fixed for extraordinary supply in the town. Cr. Wilson secemdod, and the miotion was carried. On Cr. Wilsooi's sfrgges- ] tion it was decided that hocuses outside the Boroaigli not ccmilecteid with the sewer and using the Borolug|h water pay 10s a year. The recommendations with the additions were ahopted. I / SELLING PORK IN THE BOROUGH. It was recommended by the Abattoir Committee that f the Taranaki Bacon Company be charged a feej of one shilling for every pig- sold in tlhe Borough. The cost of killing a pig at the abattoir is Is fid. Cr. Wilson enquired what it was proposed to do, charge one shilling, for a whole pig or any portion of a pigsold in the Borough ? (Cr. Tisch agreed there was some difficulty, about' the matter, but thought it hardly fair to impose the one shilling on; every portion of a pigsold. Tie Mayor said he objected to conceding to the Bacon . Company^ permission to sell in the Borough meat not killed at the > Borough abattoir which* had been erected at considerable expense. It was hardly fair to allow the Company to ' kill , on their own premises and forcing butchers to go to tho abattoir and pay the charges levied for up-keep. It was pointed out tEat the Bacon Company had their premises licensee! and could sell in the Borough 1 until such time as a' charge was fiixe'd. The report was adopted, it being remarked that if unsatisfactory, the matter coukl be referred to the Minister for Agriculture. \ RESERVES. The { Reserves Committee reported that it has no power to set aside a portion of the cemetery as £ a burial ground for the Freemasons, and that Mr Corkill be informed \ accordingly, and the Committeej further recommended that Block No. 3, allotments Nos. 1 to 12 (containing 36 grave plots) of that portion of the cemetery orig^tnally allotted to the Independents be set aside as a burial ground for the Jewish fraternity. The report was adopted.
