Rowe Junction Road, .Sergeant Had drell called, Chief Warder Hawkins at Nev Plymouth gaol, wlid gave evidence a! to prisoner wearing .the clothinj (produced) when he wdft eapturet and brought back to gaol. , r Constable Beattie, stationed a Waitara, gave evidence as to arrest ing Schreiner near Urenui. He was wearing the clothing (produced). Henry N. ROwe, farmer on June tion Road near Inglewood, stated hi left his place on > CecoKiTjer 24th The door was locked and trie win dows were down, but had no fastefl ings. ' He returned home on, Jan vary 10th. He saw signs that th< place had been disturbed, and som< working clothes taken. The clothe: (produced) were his property. Accused had no questions to as] any of the witnesses. - This .was the evMence. In answer to the usual formulj Schreiner said he was "not guilty but reserved his defence. He was then .committed to tak< his trial at the next Supreme Couri Sessions'. The Court rose.
