At Riccarton on Saturday morniDg Glenaladalc went twice round the grass at half pace, and C.mnie Chiel had a round, finishing at a strong pace. Itougemont, who accompanied Mr Hobbs' horae, broke a blood vessel and fell at the entrance to the straight. Hypnotist did a fast 6 furlongs on the cinders. Cameo did a good working gallop of 1£ miles, Cadet joining in t'e last 5 furlongs. Huku, Wepener, Hawthorne, and Shotgun were given strong exercise. After breakfast Vulcan went a mile fast on the plough; Blandford. 5 furlongs at a good pace; Strathnairn and Cora Linn a good 5 furlongs on the grass; Saint Ilario beat Clanburn and De Wet over 6 furlongs in lmin 18sec; Hermosa beat Magnificent in a mile on the grass in lmin 45scc; Wee Drappie, Antigone, Clandeboye, Oyster, Scotch Mist and others did steady exercise; Long Toia was schooled over the hurdles, shaping well. The following were the results at Papakura on Saturday :— Maiden, Sly Misa; Flying, Belfast; Pony, Goitsir; Papakuia Handicap, The Needle; Hack, Pungarehu (Eros-Maritana) ; Railway Plate, Belfast.
