GENERAL FRENCH'S SUCCESSES.
LARGE CAPTURES. Beceived March 16, 9.3 a.m. London, March 16. — General French reports that an additional 46 Boers have been killed and wounded and 146 made prisoners, and that 200 rifles, 3700 cartridges, 2400 horses, 120 mules, 370 trek oxen, 2500 cattle, and 400 waggons'nave been captured. The weatner is still wet. A fight lasting four hours took place near Kenhardt between 23 of Orpen's Horse and 70 Boers. Three of the enemy were killed and wounded, inoluding Field Cornet Bedelininga, who received fatal injuries. Received March 16, 10.2 ft a.nL ; Sydney, March 15. -The first portion of the Imperial dcaft Contingeaiy^nunberin^aboot a 1000 offioert'and men, and a 1000 horses marched through the streets and boarded the troopships Custodian and Maplemore. They sail for the Cape to-morrow. Auckland, March 16.— The Star cop* respondent telegraphs that the Government has granted a pension of £26 per annum to the mother of Trooper "Connell who was killed at New Zealanders' Hill.
