AN ENVELOPING MOVEMENT IN PROGRESS. Ueoeh ed January 29, 9 33 a.m. London, January 28. — The Calvinia commandos southward of Mai'o have been checked, and General Settle, with De Lisle, Th or oey croft, and Bethune is engaged in an envelopiug movement. The Australians are patrolling towards Lambert. Received January 29, 11.8 a.m. London, January 25. — A western commando, after occupying Van Rhyns Dorp, divided, a portion moving south to the Doom River, the rest marching to Degrift and Brahdvlei. An eastern commando is marching to Ondthshoorn and southwards. The British are occupying the Zwartzburg Passes and Ondthshoorn strongly. Under Lord Methuen s pressure a portion of a commando re-entered the Transvaal.
