MESSRS BEWLEY AND GRIFFITHS' SHARE REPORT.

Messrs Bewley & Griffiths report as follows: — Business in investment stocks has been quiet. National Banks have advanced to buyers at £3 10s, while Bank of New Zealand shares have slightly receded, buyers offering £1 6s. The market generally Bhows a slight tendency to fall, and Insurance Companies have been heavily hit by the recent large fires. Auckland mining is without material change. On the West Coast there has been an upward movement in shares on the Nelson Creek, as from advices received by us the Nelson Creek dredge has got on to rich gold, and the shares of all companies on the Creek have advanced in consequence. The ground where the dredge is now working, which adjoins the Pactolus boundary, was not regarded as being by any means the best part of the claim, consequently rich gold having been struck in this part augurs well for the future of the district.

We report sales of Kohinoor, Aorere, Victory, New River, and Mosquito Creek.
