THE COST OF VALUING.
TO TH> KDITOK.
Sm,-rl am surprised and disgusted at the want of consideration ahown by the New Plymouth Harbour Board as a body, and Messrs Hignett and King in particular, for daring to question the right of this enlightened and Liberal Go vernment to make what charges they choose to raise money to pay supporters requiring billets, who have worked so hard to keep the Liberal, very liberal, Government in power. See what they have done for their supporters ! Look at the list of J.P'g ! Should we not feel proud ? The majority must rule, and as it ip the ratepayer who happens to be in the minority, he must be bled ; so long as he has the blood, liberality will drain him of the last drop. Poor ratepayers ! You never did, and I suppose, never will hang together to protect your own interests, so you must grin and bear it. — I am, &c, A Ratepayer.
