Fruit. — The following prices were realised at sales during the week:— Apples, 2s to 2s 6d, plums 3s to 6s 6d, peaches 6s, tomatoes 5s to 6s 6d, grapes 9d to Is Id, lemons 6s to Bb. Cattle.— At Stratford, on Tuesday, stocks were yarded considerably in excess of advertised numbers. There was a good attendance, but bidding on the whole was not quite so brisk as of latev All good calves sold readihr, but prices offered for steers and 15-month heifers in most cases were below vendors' reserve, and most of thdse were passed at the hammer. A good proportion, however, changed hands afterwards at fair prices. Good weaners made from 23s to 255; good calves, 27s 6d to 335; 15-month steers, 55s to 66s 8d ; 18 to 20-month steers, 68s 6d to 76s ; 15 to 18* month heifers, 55s to 655; 2-year heifers, 70s to 72s 6d; springers, 70s to 82s fid ; store cows, 65b 6d to 65s ; fresh cows, 72s to 77s 6d. At Stony River, on Wednesday, the the yards were well filled and nearly everything sold at toe hammer.
