MR NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT At the Hayma^ket on Saturday business waß slack. One trap mare sold at £10. A quantity of sundries was disposed of at low rates. At the Mart fowls realised from Is 8d to 2s; hams, 6d to 6d; bacon, 3d; potatoes, 2s 6d; Onions, 3d. Furniture and sundries made low rates. ' Cattle. — At Stratford on Tuesday the yards were full, and competition keen for all classes. Late values were well maintained throughout, and nearly every line was cleared at satisfactory prices, forward and springing heifers selling especially well. Calves made 30s to 39s 6d; yearlings, 42s to 53s ; empty heifers, 60s to 70s; forward springers (choice quality), 80s to 1355: 18 months steers, 71s 6d ; 2 to 2J year steers, 88s; store cows, 65s to 75s. — At Oakura on Wednesday Mr George Looney's clearing sale was well attended. The cows were a good lot and, considering they were nearly all in milk, sold well. Cows at full profit made £5 to £7 ss; springing heifers, extra quality and very forward, £6 10s to £7; draught horses, £23 to £25 ; trap horses, £6 15s to £18 IPs; store pigs, 12s to J4s 6d; porkers, • 26s te 33s 6d.—^At Rahotu on Thursday cattle mustered freely and there was a large attendance. Bidding was very active and everything sold well. Calves made 36s to 375; yearlings, 40s to 545; 18 months to 2 year heifers, 60s; springers," 70s to £6 12s 6d ; store cows, 60s to 725; cows and calves, 745.
