NORFOLK ROAD.

Lfbom our own correspondent.] Since I chronicled Mr Higuett's patriotic lecture at our school, several changes have taken place in our district, which may now fairly claim to be as progressive as any part of the province. Some months ago Mr Jno. "Broughtcn, of Rugby Road, sold a part of his farm to Mr "WisneAvski, who has built quite a nice house on it. Mr Pentecost, als=o of Eugby Road, sold his f.irm to_ ]\lr Brown, brother-in-law of Mr Aikon, whose neighbour he • will now be. Mr Pentecost then bought Mr Jorgensen's farm on the Norfolk Road West. Still later Mr Jko. Heal, whos,e wife's sad death left him with no one to look after his family of young children, sold out to Mr T. Jones, late of Kaimata. Mr Thomas Broughtou so!J his farm, one of the best in the district, to Mr J. Harding, brother-in-law of Mr A. J. Mclntosh, of New Plymouth fame. The last transaction has been the sale of Mr Killick's farm to Mr Webber, of Stratford. MrE.Howell is also down here from Auckland with the object of selling his two nice sections, so that avq quite expect to have an enterprising land agent take up permanent quarters with us. We have a post-office now, and its name is not Norfolk Road but Miro. Letters for people in this district should be addressed simply to Miro, otherwise they may go to Inglewood, and causa considerable lo3s of time in transit.
