BENEFIT CONCERT.

A VERY pleasing entertainment tendered, for the benefit of Mr D. Clafcay wat> held in St. Joseph's Schoolroom on Wednesday evening, and was largely attended. A diversified programme was submitted. The first part consisted of items by tbe Liliputian Minerals, and proved to be a very enjoyable feature of the concert. The young entertainers have reached an attractive state of proficiency in the burnt cork business. The songs they contributed were good, and some of the jokes were well thought out.' Nearly all, the solos and choruses were re-demanded, " Razors in the Air " and the Whistling chorus eliciting special recognition from the audience. Dm ing the second part Fong4 were contributed by Miss B. O'Donneli, Messrs E. Clarke, L. Cook, Gordon, and Nash; a duefc by Mrs Clarke and Miss O'Donneli, and a pianoforte solo by Miss Ryan. To Mrs Clarke is due the credit of promoting the entertainment, and the gratifying success winch has attended that lady's efforts carries no doubt its own reward. •.; ( - , ,
