Before the unfortunate man could recover himself one of the wheels of the .adjoining truck struck him, and passed over h&'legs.- ' Prompt means were. taken to communicate with a doctor, who ordered the rempyal pf the .sufferer ,to the hospital. The exiot, extent of the injuries is not known, butit.is'Jfeared one of the legs' is so badly, jeruahed that amputation wilfbe'newssaryj^hlle^he other Jimbji also severely m^til^t§<34 f ; . The fears entertained as to tfae neties^it^ of amputation have been confirmed^- sn& the right •<! eg of the unfortunate 'man. was removed .at the knee joint., by -Dt'Leav tham, assisted by Drs. ; Q 'Carroll Sand Walker.'
