May, the diver, who left by the Talune to endeavour to recover the Tasmania's mails, takes a complete new Heinke diving plant. The representative of the German New Guinea Company, of which Herr Von Hagen was the director-general, b«s received details of the latter's innrdsr, wlrieb was committed by a New Ireland trooper engaged by tne German authorities on August 2&tb. Tho sam* trooper had previov^ly made himself \ notorious by murdering Herr Ellera, the \ distinguished explorer and » personal friend of the German Emperor, and his lieutenant, and in whose bodyguard the trooper was incfaded upon an exploring expedition in the interior of New Guinea. The trooper wa* arrested for the murder of Ellers but escaped and while being pursued shot Hagen.
