OAKURA.
[from our owx correspondent.] The Oakura Hall trustees -met in the hull on Thursday eveniug, Apiil Bth, to consider the advi.sabilitv of getting up some amusement for the coming winter nights. It was dec-ided to have a plain and fanc.j dress ball oti or about Hay 6th, to begin with ; after thai I heiir different parties are ouquiring for the use of the hall for entertiinrneuts, so we shall have some little amusement. A fancy dress ball will be a novalty to our district, aud I hope the Indies will show up in fancy dross as well as ladies of other districts, and gentlemen, too, but as is is a plain aud fancy dress ball we shall not expect to see all in fancy dross. As this is for the benefit of the hall we hope to see a bumper house. I hear Mr Adlam had a heifer calfe on his farm the other day with only two teats, and not the sign of another teat ; and I hear aho ia milling fairly well. We have had several parties out hare hunting lately, but with not much lack ; the bares seem scarce and wild.
